I was walking Fifth Avenue three years ago and saw a sign for Scottish Cashmere. As I had no idea what to get my husband for Christmas, I went up to the sixth floor where I saw the most beautiful sweaters. I bought him one and he loved it!

I have been back each Christmas since and several times in between. I cannot recommend this store enough. The sweaters are perfect and so is the staff, they keep a record of your size which is so helpful,
and they have great sales. If you live in New York or nearby, go to the store. However, if you live too far away, do not hesitate to order from them because you will not be disappointed. All I can say, you will never buy Chinese cashmere again once you feel and wear real Scottish cashmere.

Beautiful quality cashmere sweaters and capes. These are not the skimpy Chinese made variety. This is a superior cashmere. The capes are more ample than the $300 versions available at the large department stores. They are thicker and better quality. If you are looking for classic quality cashmere, this is the best source. They do not have the high fashion embellishments common in the less expensive variety but they are classic styles that will last forever.

I have been a client of Tanya and Charles' for over 15 years. They have always given me the best, friendliest and most honest service. The cashmere quality of everything I have bought is absolutely outstanding. Every once in a while I will stray and buy a cashmere sweater somewhere else (usually on when on vacation and not thinking straight), but even if is a recognized brand name, the quality does not stand up to the quality of Best of Scotland, and I end up giving the item away after only a few uses. Yes, Best of Scotland is not the cheapest cashmere you have ever bought, but it certainly is the best. I have had sweaters for over 15 years! Also, it is much fun to visit the display room. There are so many colors and styles, for both men and women. You are sure to find something you like. Best of Scotland is a treat and a find!

I live in Los Angeles and ONLY buy cashmere apparel at Best of Scotland! They offer the finest quality, color and style selection for both men and women that I have ever seen and that does include cashmere from many high fashion designers. My husband has purchased their cashmere shirts and sweaters for years and has them in every color. He loves comfort and wears them daily. My collection of cashmere is growing rapidly. I thoroughly enjoy wearing their vests and turtlenecks. I also have a stunning gray cape which is the envy of my girlfriends. The owners are so accomodating, warm and friendly. My only negative is that I live 3000 miles away. But shopping trips to New York aren't such a bad thing, right? If you really love cashmere, a visit to Best of Scotland is a must!!!

i first purchased sweaters here because I noticed it just around the corner from my husband's office where I worked part time. Until last week, I had not been there for quite a numberr of years. Charles asked my why so long? My response, "I have a bunch of your sweaters and they just don't wear out." The place is fabulous--great customer service. They know what size you would be without your trying on even one sweater but you are encouraged to try on as many as you'd like. They are great at recommending colors if you are not sure and they're willing to exchange for size, color or style just because you want to do that. The merchandise is on the expensive side but IT'S THE REAL DEAL!! Most other cashmere's you see in the stores today are made in China or elswhere in the Far East and are so thin you can see right through them. These are fabulous and will be with you and wearable for as long as you wish to own them.

I have been a customer at Best of Scotland for the past ten years. I stumbled on this treasure quite by accident as I walked past their Fifth Avenue location. The sign "100% pure Scottish cashmere" intrigued me because it was, and still is, virtually impossible to find cashmere of this quality, not to mention the selection, size options and the beautiful array of colors. I ventured up to the 6th floor penthouse and as the elevator opened, I felt like I was in cashmere heaven. The showroom is beautiful and the view overlooking Fifth Avenue is amazing. The owners, Tania and Charles, are just delightful. You're greated, showed around the showroom and invited to try on sweaters to determine your proper size. Incidentally, the sizing of these sweaters is by inches around the chest rather than by the standard small, medium, large, etc., so you definitely are assured of a proper fit. Prior to shopping at Best of Scotland, I shopped at some of the major stores in New York but was only able to buy cashmere made in China. I am happy to say that I now have a source for beautiful Scottish cashmere and continue to return to Best of Scotland for all my cashmere needs.

In a day and age where most cashmere in European designer sweaters does not come from Europe, Best of Scotland bucks the trend by stocking high quality Scottish cashmere. Don't let people tell you that there isn't a difference in quality and wear! The employees at Best of Scotland are really knowledgeable about how cashmere is made and can educate you on the differences in quality. The staff is very personable and there are a ton of styles and colors. Since making my first purchase at the store a couple of years ago, I have stopped buying cheaper cashmere at other stores. The many sweaters I have bought there wear incredibly well and do not pill like lesser quality (but not always lower priced) sweaters. Additionally, you can wash the sweaters in your washing machine, so you save money on dry cleaning. Scottish cashmere from Best of Scotland is a worthwhile investment that will pay off in the long run.

This place-located in a Penthouse showroom on fifth Avenue has the best collection of real Scottish Cashmere Sweaters this side of London. And in my opinion the scots do two things better than anyone else in the world - cashmere and whisky.
If you're looking for top quality cashmere, this is the place. The variety of colors and styles is amazing. I find it an excellente source to do one stop shopping for the important people in my Christmas list.
